Public Scans Policy
Last updated: 26 May 2026
1. Purpose
Public scans published on Lay The Terms are informational and educational. They are designed to help users understand how common contracts, terms of service, privacy policies, and other agreements are structured, and to demonstrate the Lay The Terms analysis methodology.
2. Not legal findings
Public scans are not legal findings, accusations, or professional opinions. They are automated educational analyses generated at a specific point in time. The scores, classifications, and summaries reflect the Lay The Terms methodology and may differ from the views of a lawyer, regulator, court, or the company that published the original document.
3. Documents may change
Official documents are updated by their authors from time to time. A public scan reflects the version of the document that was available at the time of scanning. Users should verify any quoted text or specific clause against the current official document before relying on it.
4. No endorsement or affiliation
Public scans do not imply endorsement, partnership, affiliation, or criticism of any company, platform, product, or service. The inclusion of a document in our public scans does not mean Lay The Terms recommends or discourages use of that product or service.
5. Corrections
If you represent a company whose document has been scanned and believe a source, quote, or factual detail is outdated or incorrect, you may request a correction or update by contacting support@laytheterms.com. We will review correction requests promptly and update or remove scans where appropriate.
6. Updates and removal
Lay The Terms may update, archive, or remove public scans at any time without notice. Scans are provided as-is and may be removed if they no longer reflect current documents, if they create confusion, or for operational reasons.
